Enforcement and Filing Officer Oversight Committee

The Enforcement and Filing Officer Oversight Committee monitors Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) enforcement developments, procedures and practices; provides CPAA members with updates on such procedures and practices; offers comments to the Executive Committee and the CPAA membership, to enable CPAA to provide input to the FPPC and the Legislature on enforcement process problems; and works cooperatively with the FPPC to propose and comment on regulatory changes affecting the enforcement process.  The Committee also works to address logistical issues implicated by filing reports with the Secretary of State, including CARS and the new secure electronic signature option.

Chair:  Jay Carson

Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring legislation involving elections, campaigns, and conflicts of interest. The Committee analyzes relevant legislation and makes recommendations to CPAA regarding whether or not the organization should support, oppose, or remain neutral.

Chair:  Nicholas Sanders

Regulatory Committee

The Regulatory Committee monitors existing and proposed FPPC regulations to identify areas of concern to its members and their clients. When appropriate, the Committee provides feedback and input to the FPPC on behalf of the regulated community in connection with the adoption of new or amended regulations. In recent years, the Committee has worked closely with the FPPC on its gift/travel disclosure and conflict of interest regulatory projects.  On occasion, the Regulatory Committee has also taken the lead in representing the interests of the regulated community before local ethics agencies.

Chair:  KC Jenkins
